The Audit, Compliance, and Effort (ACE) Team of the Office of Research Administration has university-wide responsibility for ensuring that financial standards are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations passed to us from outside sponsoring agencies. To foster financial compliance and offer best practices, we provide guidance to Research Administration staff and IU departments on all campuses.
Fiscal Year 2009 was a record breaking year for proposals! We know you are busy. The ACE goal is to help develop and maintain internal controls at the highest standards possible while keeping an eye to streamlining processes in order to ease your administrative burden. To mitigate IU’s financial risk in the areas of audit, financial compliance, and effort, we will perform periodic FIS transaction reviews and may suggest processes or procedures for improvement.
