The National Science Foundation will receive as additional $3 billion, including $2.5 billion for research on social, economic, and environmental issues, $400 million for construction of research facilities, and $100 million for education and human resources programs which will be distributed this year for projects that can be completed in two-years. Much of the funding will be used to support proposals that have already been submitted. More information can be found here.
