NIH Issues More ARRA Guidance

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has provided its agencies with standard terms and conditions for awards issued with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Division A funds. The regulations will apply to all National Institutes of Health (NIH) ARRA grants and cooperative agreement awards. The approved term for NIH ARRA awards as of April 3, 2009 is available online. Recipients should pay particular attention to the special quarterly reporting requirements required by Section 1512 of the Recovery Act as specified in Term #2.

NIH has established unique CFDA numbers to be used on every ARRA Notice of Award (NoA). These are trans-NIH CFDAs and thus cover funding by all 24 NIH institutes and centers that issue grant awards. For all Research and Research-related activities except for Construction activities awarded by the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR), the CFDA number is 93.701. For NCRR Construction awards, the CFDA number is 93.702.
